A Metrical Property of Point - Set Transformations
I t is the purpose of this note to prove a theorem concerning distances between points of a metric spacej under transformations of the space into itself. The distance between two points p and q of a metric space is denoted by d(p, q). The point into which a point p is taken by n applications of a transformation T is denoted by pn, that is, T takes p to pi, pi to p2, and so on. If d(p, q) is les...
متن کاملCharacterization of weak fixed point property for new class of set-valued nonexpansive mappings
In this paper, we introduce a new class of set-valued mappings which is called MD-type mappings. This class of mappings is a set-valued case of a class of the D-type mappings. The class of D-type mappings is a generalization of nonexpansive mappings that recently introduced by Kaewkhao and Sokhuma. The class of MD-type mappings includes upper semi-continuous Suzuki type mappings, upper semi-con...
متن کاملA nonconvex separation property and some applications
In this paper we proved a nonconvex separation property for general sets which coincides with the Hahn-Banach separation theorem when sets are convexes. Properties derived from the main result are used to compute the subgradient set to the distance function in special cases and they are also applied to extending the Second Welfare Theorem in economics and proving the existence of singular multi...
متن کاملA nonconvex separation property in Banach spaces
We establish, in innnite dimensional Banach space, a nonconvex separation property for general closed sets that is an extension of Hahn-Banach separation theorem. We provide some consequences in optimization, in particular the existence of singular multipliers and show the relation of our principle with the extremal principle of Mordukhovich.
متن کاملOn Ideals Which Have the Weakly Insertion of Factors Property
A one-sided ideal of a ring has the insertion of factors property (or simply, IFP) if implies r for . We say a one-sided ideal of has the weakly IFP if for each , implies , for some non-negative integer . We give some examples of ideals which have the weakly IFP but have not the IFP. Connections between ideals of which have the IFP and related ideals of some ring extensions a...
